For forty years, this resort has been well used and well loved by an endless stream of visitors, which is why they have undergone a major renovation lately. On 3000 North Ocean Boulevard, you are across the street from the beach. They have designed a new Cayman Condo tower with 2, 3 or 4 bedroom suites, or you can stay at the Dominican Tower, also newly renovated, the Chelsea House or Jamaican with up to 3 bedrooms in a less busy area.
Just for starters, the Cayman Tower was created with a West Indies theme in mind. The Cayman is designed for both couples and families, with an ocean front 200 foot lazy river, an indoor lazy river, an ocean front water park, indoor and outdoor pools, video games room, poolside bar and a children’s club in the summer. Hair braiding is done for several months by Jamaican staff, from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
There is the Sea Captains House restaurant that serves three meals a day, and there are more restaurants within walking distance. There are also fast food deliveries available.
Rates: From July 31 to August 6, with two adults and three children age 10 and under, with no specials, was just over $2400.00 for an ocean front 3 bedroom condo. There are all kinds of specials and nightly rates also.
Reviews: Outstanding in general. The new Cayman Tower is well designed and the water activities are great fun. It appears that booking at the Cayman is a better choice for space then the Dominican. The staff, cleanliness and efficiency are highly rated, and with a few exceptions people love coming here repeatedly. The exceptions appear mainly with the Dominican. The Jamaican is part of this resort and is on the beach, which gives you great access to the ocean and a quieter spot then the Cayman. The resort is one of the top rated at Myrtle Beach and popular for those looking for a family beach vacation.
Would I stay here? If I don’t feel like crowds I would likely wait until Labor Day is over. I would check out the Jamaican more as I love being able to step outside onto the beach.
